Just Wanted To Say...

As tribute to the 10th anniversary of the day that will live in infamy, it feels especially important today to tell all those in my life how thankful I am our paths have crossed. Today is so important. If for only one day, don't hold hate, don't sweat the small stuff, and be thankful. Today is a day of remembrance, but also a day to stop, pause, be present, and be aware. Be aware of how quickly life comes and goes and be aware of how drastically the world, your world, can change in a matter of minutes. We all saw that ten years ago, and our eyes opened. Every year like a lot of other Americans I watch the September 11 documentaries on TV with a heavy heart and misty eyes. I never fail to get choked up at the sheer and genuine terror and fear in the screams of those who watched first hand the most evil act of hatred this country has ever seen. My heart goes out to all of them. On that day, and every September 11 since, we are ALL New Yorkers. On that day we knew sorrow, we knew loss, and we too felt hatred. But now we know unity, and you're damn right we know strength.

So yes, to you this may be a never ending slide show of pictures that have no meaning to you, but to me they're moments, memories, and people I'm so grateful for. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of those who lost someone on that day and those lost in pursuit of protecting our country these last ten years. Gone but never, ever forgotten.

P.S. There are PLENTY of people I have no photos with and you best believe you mean just as much to me.

and especially to this crew right here....

"Laugh when you can, apologize when you should. Know that grudges are a waste of happiness. Let go of what you cannot change. Love deeply, forgive quickly, take some chances. Give all you have got. Always try to take things in your stride and smile when you’re feeling sad. Remember what you’ve got but also love and cherish what you have now. Give all that you have, because life is too short to be anything else but happy."
